Create. Play. Connect.
These workshops offer a receptive communal space, a place to tap into the joy of creating, to find creative confidence, to tell our stories, and to orient ourselves in a broader community of voices and expressions.
We are all creative beings who need space in which to process our experiences, experiment, take risks, play, and really pay attention to what is. The blank canvas, the blank page, the tools of creative activity, are invitations to inquire, explore, and communicate something essential and vital about our experiences, our thoughts, and our dreams. These workshops are about creating a space where participants can safely, playfully, and deeply engage with the images and themes that populate our lives.
The workshops are designed for children, adults, and people of all ages and artistic backgrounds.
“Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant—there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing—and keeping the unknown always beyond you…” – Georgia O’Keefe
Monoprinting
Monoprinting combines printmaking and painting in a magical art form where every print contains an element of surprise. In this workshop, we use gel printing plates and a variety of tools, masks, and found materials to create textures and shapes that translate into one-of-a-kind artworks.
Stencil Printing
Stencil printing is a simple but effective graphic art form. In this workshop, we experiment with translating photographs and drawings into graphic prints, as well as creating silhouettes and masks that can be integrated into collages.
Collage
Text and image work together in intriguing ways to tell a story and give voice to an experience or sensation. This workshop is a playful exploration of the way personal visual narratives emerge as we investigate composition, colour, texture, and lettering techniques.
